The name is taken because the exterior decoration on the walls by human figures that seem to be dancing or taking funny positions. It was the house of the Dean of the Puebla Cathedral Church, Don Tomas de la Plaza, and is considered the oldest civil house in Puebla. Besides it historical Renassance styled facade the house indoors have the oldest Renaissance paintings in all the Americas. They are located in the only two preserved rooms of the original building. One room has the sibyllas meaning prophetess. The earlier oracular seeresses known as the sibyls of antiquity. It's an allegory to the Old Testament. The second room represents the Triumphs, a Petrarca's work to express his love for Laura.

Alfenique HouseThe Alfenique house was built 1791 for a wealthy ironworker who wanted to please his fiance who love sweets. The name Alfenique means sugar paste and this is the name given to the building because it stucco decoration in white color and red bricks walls.

The house is a Puebla City History Museum and it is well preserved. At the third level you will find lovely family rooms plus a beautiful famili chapel and poblano kitchen.
